Counseling Approach
I believe everyone has the inner capabilities to cope with problems and move toward self-fulfillment and happiness, but sometimes we ALL need help to do so. By focusing on feelings, thoughts, relationships, and personal or family patterns, individuals can gain greater insight and discover how to move to a place of contentment and wholeness. I consider counseling an opportunity to work together, to help you or your child, solve existing concerns, reach new goals, and experience the joy in life you desire.
Dr. Marcey Mettica specializes in helping children, teens, adults, and families with a variety of concerns.

Experience
Dr. Mettica brings over twenty years of experience helping children, teens, adults, and families in a variety of capacities including private practices, agencies, churches, in-patient psychiatric hospitals, schools, colleges, and community organizations.
Dr. Mettica has worked with the Collin and Denton county family courts as a custody evaluator and Court Appointed Special Advocate, Collin County probation services, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton county, University Behavioral Health Hospital, and in private practices.
Dr. Mettica’s diverse and extensive experiences provide her a wealth of knowledge with children, youth, adults, and families in crisis including those suffering from severe trauma.

Education
Marcey received a Doctorate in Family Studies at Texas Woman’s University, a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University.

Experience

Dr. Mettica has also been a guest lecturer at SMU, UTD, and TWU, as well as at state and local counseling association conferences. <

Dr. Mettica’s experience has also taught her that everyone needs help at times, and it is best to reach out before there is a crisis.
