Counseling Approach

Lucy believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship. For her, this means that the foundation of change begins with acceptance, empathy, and understanding. Lucy recognizes that each individual is uniquely shaped by their internal and external world. She seeks to come alongside clients to help them gain insight into their patterns of thoughts, feelings, and actions that might be helping or harming them. Lucy trusts in the client’s innate ability to move towards change in their own time. She considers it a great privilege to be with clients in life’s peaks and valleys.

Education

Lucy earned her Master of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University with special coursework in Child-Centered Play Therapy and Adolescent Play Therapy. Lucy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Nonprofit Management from Pepperdine University.

Experience

Lucy had the privilege of working with children, teens, and young adults in both a nonprofit and school setting in Hawaii for 4 years. She completed her clinical internship at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County where she worked with children, teens, parents, and families who have experienced trauma. Lucy is passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults who are encountering life changes and mental health challenges.
