Education

Heather obtained a BA in psychology

from The University of North Texas,

before entering the Police Academy.

While balancing a successful career in

law enforcement, she earned a M. Ed. in

Marriage and Family Counseling from

Lamar University.

Experience

Heather specializes in teen and adult depression & anxiety, first responders and their family issues, parenting children with developmental or medical complications, couples, and complex family system dynamics.

Most recently, Heather completed an

18-month internship with Carrollton

Springs Behavioral Hospital, specializing

in partial hospitalization support and group

therapy.

Separate from her most recent

educational achievements, Heather is a

23-year veteran of a large police

department, and has received rigorous

mental health training, in addition to the

benefit, of real-life crisis situations.
