Counseling Approach

When given a warm, accepting environment, I believe all people-big and small- have the ability to strive towards personal growth. However, people can sometimes struggle to reach their potential by experiencing different life events. I trust in my client’s natural direction and work collaboratively with the client, and when applicable, their family to reach their goals. I focus my work with client’s on creating a strong, empathetic therapeutic relationship that allows clients to find greater self-awareness, more appreciation, and self-acceptance.

Jessica earned a Masters of

Education in Counseling from Drake

University. She also earned a

Bachelors in Psychology and a

Bachelors in Elementary Education

from the University of Iowa.

Experience

Jessica was an elementary school

teacher for over a decade, a middle school guidance counselor, worked in vocational rehabilitation, and most recently spent the past five years in special education in Prosper ISD, where she advocated for children and collaborated with parents and staff. Jessica is excited to begin helping individuals and families with their emotional and mental health needs in a private practice setting.
