Counseling Approach
Jacob believes that everyone experiences difficult seasons in life and that no two people experience them in quite the same way. He believes therapy should be a place where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. Jacob takes a person-centered approach to counseling and works alongside each client to understand their experiences, recognize their strengths, and develop tools that can help them move toward their goals.
Jacob believes that building a genuine connection with clients is one of the most important parts of therapy. He strives to create a comfortable and supportive environment where clients can be themselves and feel safe exploring the things that may be difficult to talk about. When working with children and adolescents, Jacob incorporates creative and play-based approaches when appropriate to help them express themselves and make therapy feel more natural and engaging.

Education
Jacob received his Master of Science degree in Counseling from East Texas A&M University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas.

Experience
Jacob has experience providing counseling to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. He has worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, family conflict, trauma, and other difficulties affecting their emotional well-being and relationships.
Before becoming a licensed counselor, Jacob worked in community mental health with children and families, providing skills training, care coordination, crisis support, and advocacy. He has worked with youth in home, school, and community settings and has experience helping families navigate difficult circumstances and connect with helpful resources. Jacob has a particular interest in supporting adolescent boys and young men as they navigate identity, relationships, confidence, emotional expression, and the challenges of growing into adulthood. He aims to provide a space where young men can openly explore these challenges, develop healthy coping skills, and build confidence in themselves and their relationships.
