Counseling Approach
Sarah understands that life is deeply complex and full of adversity, which can result in sadness, anger, guilt, and shame. She trusts that every person has an innate tendency for growth, and believes that lasting change will occur in environments where people feel safe and accepted enough to explore every dimension of themselves. In both the counseling room and the playroom, Sarah prioritizes building a strong therapeutic relationship in order to create a space where clients feel empowered to move towards greater self-acceptance, self-efficacy, and self-control.

Education and Experience
Sarah is working towards her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
from UNT with a specialization in play therapy and is currently completing her internship
requirements. She also earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from UNT where
she completed an undergraduate thesis over the indirect effects of insecure attachment
on psychological distress in college students.
Sarah has been working with children for over ten years in camp and medical settings.
In her practicum, she worked with children and adults at one of UNT’s on-campus
counseling centers.
