Claire Marone

Counseling Approach.
I am truly passionate about Play Therapy and partnering with caregivers to aid their family with the support and tools they need in their journey towards healing. Play Therapy is an evidenced based approach that utilizes the therapeutic powers of play as a way to enhance and enrich the counseling process. Play provides children a developmentally appropriate and natural way of communicating to express their feelings. I believe caregiver involvement is crucial in facilitating and maintaining positive change within the child and family system. Play Therapy can help provide a deeper understanding of your unique child and provide insight into their individual needs. Benefits of Play Therapy include increased understanding and tolerance for feelings, enhanced emotional expression, increased ability to problem solve and to utilize coping skills. Additional benefits are increased self-esteem, increased sense of safety and security, and an increased ability to take responsibility for one's behavior.
